New patients book an Initial Acupuncture Consultation & Treatment; returning patients within 12 months can book a Subsequent Acupuncture Treatment; and those wanting dedicated massage/cupping alongside acupuncture can choose Acupuncture and Massage, or Acupuncture and Cupping.

I see people for a wide range of health concerns, including pain and muscle tension, stress and anxiety, sleep problems, headaches and migraines, digestive issues, women’s health, fertility and IVF support, pregnancy, birth preparation and perimenopause. Treatment is always tailored to you and what you’re experiencing.

We’ll start by talking through what’s brought you in, your health history and anything else that may be contributing to how you’re feeling. I’ll also use Chinese Medicine diagnostic methods, including tongue and pulse assessment, before tailoring your first acupuncture treatment to you.

Acupuncture needles are extremely fine, and most people are surprised by how comfortable treatment can be. You may feel different sensations around some points, such as heaviness, tingling, warmth or a dull ache. If you’re nervous about needles, please let me know, we can go as slowly and as gently as you need and treatment can always be adjusted to your comfort level.

This varies from person to person and depends on what you’re seeking support for, how long the concern has been present, your overall health and how you respond to treatment. After your initial consultation, I can give you a better idea of what I’d recommend for you.

A standard acupuncture appointment focuses primarily on your acupuncture treatment. Acupuncture and massage/cupping includes dedicated hands-on treatment time alongside acupuncture and can be a great option for pain, muscle tension and tightness, or if you simply prefer more treatment and relaxation time. Both 60 and 90-minute options are available.

Yes, it’s best to have eaten something within a few hours of your appointment rather than arriving on an empty stomach. You don’t need a large meal, something light beforehand is fine.

Loose, comfortable clothing is ideal where possible. Depending on the areas being treated, you may need to adjust or remove some clothing, and appropriate draping is always provided.

Yes, private health rebates are available for acupuncture if it’s included in your level of cover. I’ll provide you with the information you need to make your claim with your health fund.

Acupuncture can be used during pregnancy when provided by a suitably qualified practitioner, with treatment and acupuncture points selected appropriately for each stage of pregnancy. I work with women throughout pregnancy as well as for birth preparation, with each treatment tailored to the individual.

Chinese herbal medicine can be used alongside acupuncture or as part of your overall treatment plan, depending on what you’re coming in for and your individual needs.
I use individually prescribed herbal formulas in capsule form where appropriate.
Herbal medicine is completely optional. If I think it may be helpful for you, I’ll talk you through why I’m recommending it, how to take it, and any relevant considerations, including medications or supplements you’re already taking.
